An Award for being Stylish-good thing Stacey and Clinton aren't around to see me accept this!

Chris at Army of 5 awarded me this Stylish blogger award and I feel so special! Thank you Chris! Usually "style" is not a part of my vocab-LOL...so I am to follow the rules (oooh that is making it kinda hard already-LOL) noted below:

1. Thank and link back to the Stylish Blogger who awarded this to you. (check)
2. Share seven things about yourself (must I? OK, check)
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers (I will award 5 cuz I am sure many of the ones that I wanna award have already been selected)
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!! (I can do that)

7 things you prob'ly aren't so sure you wanna know:

1. It is my bday today (Jan. 23).  So I am sorta now kinda oldish here-and I am proud to state that I am 44 years old today.  Thank you Lord for giving me these precious years-please give me at least that many more and then some!
2. I am trying to learn Russian.  I have a few of the basics (hello, good-bye, no, yes) down...long way to go tho.
3. I am changing gears this year and will be making some changes concerning what I spend my time doing (not saying right now cuz it isn't the right time I 'speculate) and hopefully, what I will be spending my time preparing for (ie: adoption).
4. I am in Army Wives rehab...I have been suffering withdrawal symptoms since the last episode of the season aired and I am barely hanging on-just a few more months til the next season starts...just a few more months.
5. I have given up the battle against the dust in this house.  I dunno where it is all coming from-but no matter how often I dust-it is back seconds later and never ceases.  The dust has won.
6. I have like 5 active blogs and 2 dormant ones.  I dunno what I am thinking-it is just they each serve a different purpose.  I don't post every day, or sometimes every week-so time/energy isn't the issue...just remembering to post once in a while is! LOL
7. I am boring-yes it is true.  Haven't been active in much these past couple years, trying to decide if that is a good thing or not so good thing...my goal for this year is to do more of something, like field trips and activities, but I dunno...we'll see. Til then, I remain a boring ole lady.

yes, that is all I know of myself...like I said boring.  So sorry.  Well, maybe the gals I pick will have some juicy tidbits of info to spill about themselves for you! Please stop by and visit them to see! (I am only doing 5, even tho I know many, many other great bloggers-please forgive me if you are not on this list-I still love ya!)

I am going places Award-Where would I like to be in 10 years?

My friend over at Joyful Journey has passed this ward on to me.

This award means `Your really going places baby`.

The rules are:
- link back to the blogger who sent me this award
- post where I would like to be in 10 years
- pass it on to 10 awesome bloggers

Well, my friend sees herself still blogging, and serving the Lord thru mission work and snuggling her (hoped for) grandbabies (esp. a girl) 10 years from now. Very admirable goals I must say.

So where do I see myself in 10 years?
I am praying the Lord will continue to open doors that will lead to my dream of having a HS center up and running-designed to provide amenities and services for the HS community-and to be a model for others so that they can have one in their area. (this is the Reader's Digest version here). I also see myself speaking and encouraging other HSing families and graduating my last student from our little family school. I of course, best have at least one or two grand babies to snuggle up and love to pieces to fulfill my baby fix needs. Otherwise, it could get ugly around here! :0)

I am passing this on to

Lea's Cozy Corner

Ginger Snap Shots

One More Equals Four

Spell Out Loud

All these ladies offer some great ideas and helps and Leah is brand new to blogging-so stop on by and say hello!

Best of the Best Acknowledgement Time-2009 Awards

Well the Crew-ze ship has come to port, and my first year has come to a close. I wanted to personally thank every vendor who participated in the Old Schoolhouse Magazine Focus Group's Maiden Voyage. I am so honored to have been able to receive, use and review your great products and services. I truly hope that you were blessed by the group's participation and that the viral marketing campaign worked for you.

Usually when things come to an end, those that stood out among the rest receive some sort of recognition, and in honor of that-I am posting my top 10 (actually 11 since First Place has two winners) picks for our family. Not that all of them have not help to spread knowledge and improve the way we homeschool, just that these products spoke to us and to our way of educating. My family and I weighed these choices carefully-CONGRATULATIONS to these companies-you deserve a pat on the back-you made our adventure worth the trip this year!

SPEARS ART STUDIO K-8 PROGRAM and HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM
(Elementary to High School)

Honorable Mention: These products are awesome in their own right, and deserve to be noted here. These didn't make the cut for the Top Eleven due to various criteria not being met. Either they are aimed to a different age range, or time frame for our homeschool right now; or they are what we would consider to be supplemental material to enhance our main studies, since they are not necessarily a "complete" curriculum. Some of these great products will come into play at a later date, some are just plain fun (and helpful too), and one (ABCs program) is a great refresher course on the very subject of homeschooling.

GENERATIONS OF VIRTUE-AGAINST THE TIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL GUIDE
